Greetings, Tau Beta Pi is the only engineering honor society representing the entire engineering profession. It is the nation's second-oldest honor society, founded at Lehigh University in 1885 to recognize students of distinguished scholarship and exemplary character. We at San Diego State University proudly constitute the California Xi Chapter of Tau Beta Pi. On behalf of the Members and the officers of California Xi Chapter, I congratulate all those who are eligible as a result of their hard work and accomplishments. Our distinguished membership includes 17 Nobel laureates, 37 astronauts, a winner of the Kyoto Award, the inventor of Ethernet, and many many more. We also provide leadership opportunities through society involvement and mentoring opportunities through community outreach programs.
